Contrary to the title, this book is NOT about a group of thespians who have started their own utopian city. It’s actually a gritty crime novel by George P. Pelecanos, set in the ghettos of Washington, D.C., focusing on a recently released felon, and is totally badass. It has been compared to a Greek tragedy, so if you’re rusty on your Euripedes, brush up on your Pelecanos. If you live for crime dramas, mob stories, and general tales of ne’er do wells, this is your bag.
